Bondi Orders Grand Jury Probe of ‘Russiagate’ Criminal Allegations
Attorney General Pam Bondi has instructed a grand jury to investigate claims of a criminal conspiracy related to the ‘Russiagate’ inquiry involving the 2016 GOP nominee and former President Donald Trump’s campaign and administration.
This directive follows criminal referrals made to the Justice Department by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe, subsequent to the declassification of documents that seemingly implicate officials from the intelligence community during former President Barack Obama’s administration in conspiring to promote a fabricated narrative of ‘Trump-Russia collusion’ devised by the campaign of 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Fox News was the first outlet to report on Bondi’s action.
“Fox News can confirm that Attorney General Pam Bondi has today signed an order directing an unnamed U.S. federal prosecutor to present evidence to a grand jury concerning an alleged conspiracy to connect then 2016 candidate Donald Trump with the nation of Russia,” network correspondent David Spunt informed host Will Cain on Monday.
“Earlier today, Fox News reviewed the one-page order signed by the Attorney General just hours ago. A source familiar with the investigation has also confirmed this information. Although a spokesperson from the Department of Justice declined to comment on the investigation report, Fox has been informed that Attorney General Bondi is taking the referrals from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard ‘very seriously,’” Spunt stated.
“The spokesperson indicated that Bondi perceives ‘clear cause for deep concern’ and recognizes the necessity for subsequent actions. This development, Will, occurs merely a few weeks after Director of National Intelligence — as you can see her there — Tulsi Gabbard submitted a criminal referral to the Justice Department regarding what she claims substantiates a conspiracy to undermine Trump’s candidacy and subsequently his initial term in office,” the correspondent added.
“To clarify, as of today, no charges have been filed and no indictments have been issued. This stage of the process is extremely preliminary. What we are witnessing is the Justice Department presenting evidence to a grand jury with the intention of obtaining an indictment or multiple indictments,” he stated. “The specific location of the grand jury’s proceedings is currently unknown, as is the identity of those who will testify before it. This lack of information is intentional, as grand juries are responsible for determining whether sufficient evidence exists for an indictment, and they operate in secrecy within the American legal framework, making it standard not to have all the details available.
“Moreover, the Department of Justice has refrained from commenting on this investigation. However, Will, this is significant news. The Attorney General Pam Bondi has authorized the presentation of evidence regarding an alleged conspiracy to a grand jury, aiming to secure an indictment or several indictments,” Spunt remarked.
“Former officials from the Obama administration, such as John Brennan, James Clapper, and James Comey, have faced criticism from Trump officials for their purported roles in crafting intelligence that allegedly undermined Trump’s victory in 2016,” Fox reported.
“There are also claims that Clinton herself may be involved in the alleged conspiracy, as suggested by prominent broadcaster Megyn Kelly.
“Earlier reports had suggested that Clinton’s 2016 campaign was responsible for the creation of the so-called ‘Steele Dossier,’ which contained numerous unfounded allegations against Trump, including the assertion that he was colluding with Moscow to influence the election in his favor.
“This woman ought to be imprisoned. In all seriousness, Hillary Clinton should be incarcerated. The same goes for those who collaborated with her in this matter. This situation is overtly corrupt. She aimed to divert attention from her email controversy by fabricating a scheme to label Trump as a Russian agent, thereby distracting from her own legitimate scandal,” Kelly expressed during a segment of her show last week.
“She fabricated a scandal alleging that Trump was a Russian asset, relying on the intelligence agencies to collaborate with her in sustaining this falsehood. It seems they were more than willing to help. This is the essence of the scandal. Some aspects were already known to us. New information continues to emerge daily due to these declassifications. It is truly astonishing,” she remarked.
