Former Obama Aides Go Public, Slam Cover-Up Of Biden Mental Decline
Several prominent allies of Obama are defying the norm of silence and are voicing their concerns regarding the troubling state of affairs under former President Joe Biden.
This week, former Obama advisor Van Jones launched a sharp critique, accusing those close to Biden of hiding his serious health decline from the American public.
During an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, Jones expressed his astonishment at Biden’s health and described the alleged cover-up by his senior staff as a “crime against this republic.”
Jones’s remarks come in the wake of revelations in Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s new book, Original Sin, which details how Biden’s inner circle may have concealed his medical issues.
“I was taken aback,” Jones stated. “I have great affection for Joe Biden. I had the opportunity to collaborate with him during my time in the Obama administration. My admiration for him grew daily. I was stunned to witness his condition when he emerged, and so was the entire world.”
Jones referenced claims in the book that members of Biden’s team were aware of his health decline yet chose to remain silent.
“This wasn’t the first instance of him being in that state,” Jones remarked. “The book makes it abundantly clear that there were individuals who were aware and chose not to speak up. That constitutes a crime against this republic. I believe the Democrats will face repercussions for their involvement in what is now being unveiled as a significant cover-up.”
Former Obama aide and co-host of Pod Save America, Jon Lovett, confessed on Jon Stewart’s “The Weekly Show” podcast that he intentionally suppressed his worries about President Joe Biden’s physical decline during the 2024 campaign.
In a discussion with Stewart and fellow Pod Save America host Jon Favreau, Lovett clarified that he opted not to publicly address the issue because he wanted Biden “to f—— win.”
“I recall feeling that I wanted to discuss this as a major liability. I believed this was something Joe Biden could overcome, but I wasn’t prepared to go as far as to say, ‘I think Joe Biden should withdraw. He is too old to be president,’” Lovett said.
Lovett voiced his apprehension that his critiques could be weaponized against Biden by his political adversaries.
He further stated that he chose to keep his worries private to prevent “the words we’re saying from being misinterpreted and suddenly becoming part of the case against Joe Biden from the right — who would utilize any individual criticizing Joe Biden from the left as a tool against him.”
“Thus, it was about being truthful regarding Joe Biden’s age as a potential drawback while recognizing that if he becomes the nominee, I want to emphasize that I believed it was crucial to ensure we did everything possible to secure his reelection,” Lovett remarked, as reported by Fox News.
Recently, CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson have raised alarms about Biden’s health while promoting their new publication, “Original Sin,” which outlines his physical and cognitive deterioration and claims a coordinated effort by his administration to hide it.
Lovett is featured in Original Sin in a narrative recounting a White House meeting on April 26, 2024, alongside his Pod Save America co-hosts Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer. The book indicates that the group departed the meeting “deeply troubled,” with the authors depicting Biden as rambling and “incoherent” during the discussion.
Alongside concerns regarding Biden’s cognitive decline, an increasing number of Republicans and officials from the Trump administration are expressing fresh worries about the heightened use of an autopen during Biden’s final year in office.
Some have speculated that Biden’s team employed the pen to sign documents on his behalf, including a series of highly contentious last-minute pardons, without the former president’s actual awareness.
