J6 Prosecutors Brag To Congress About Locking Up Americans For Misdemeanors
Two former prosecutors who were involved in charging and pursuing those who participated in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol are now revealing their genuine motives.
During a session before the Senate Intelligence Committee, the disgraced attorneys confessed to incarcerating Americans for minor offenses.
Mike Romano, a former federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Public Integrity Section, provided testimony last week at a hearing conducted on January 6, expressing that he is “proud” of the cases he managed, which led to the imprisonment of individuals who were present at the Capitol.
“Thanks to the efforts of our team, the Justice Department charged over 1,500 individuals with crimes and secured criminal convictions against nearly 1,300 people,” Romano stated. “We made sure that the rioters would be held accountable, regardless of how fleeting that accountability was. Our efforts established a public record of the offenses committed that day.”
Another frustrated former DOJ prosecutor, Sara Levine, lamented passionately in an extended, self-important monologue about her career, detailing how she was hired, her contributions, their significance to her, and her eventual termination.
Levine did not shed tears or show concern for imprisoning numerous breadwinners in American households and permanently damaging their employment records with a federal conviction. She expressed pride in her work at the DOJ and disappointment that Trump erased her achievements.
“On January 20, 2025, the president pardoned nearly all of the defendants charged on January 6 and commuted the sentences of every other rioter. I was devastated that all that effort to seek justice for the officers and the nation was erased with a single proclamation,” Levine said while in tears.

In the aftermath of January 6th, the Department of Justice under former President Joe Biden dedicated the subsequent four years to tracking attendance. The FBI conducted investigations into Americans within their residences, causing significant disruptions in many lives.
The FBI placed a higher priority on securing convictions rather than addressing more pressing threats to the nation. Prosecutors who diligently worked to obtain convictions related to the events of January 6th are astonished at their own overzealousness, having prosecuted an excessive number of individuals.
In some instances, they violated the Sixth Amendment’s guarantee of a prompt trial by holding certain individuals for over a year prior to their trial and incarcerating others for minor offenses.
This situation arises as President Trump maintains a consistent approval rating.
Republicans have regained a distinct advantage over Democrats concerning the two issues that matter most to voters: the economy (R+8) and inflation (R+6), as indicated by the latest polling data.
Just last month, amidst escalating tariff disputes, a Napolitan News Survey revealed that Democrats were narrowing the gap—equaling Republicans on the economy (R+1) and even slightly surpassing them on inflation (D+4).
However, the figures from this month reflect a return to the broader trend observed earlier in the year, when Republicans enjoyed double-digit leads on both matters (R+10 on the economy in January and February; R+11 and R+9 on inflation in February and January, respectively), according to the Napolitan News Service.
The resurgence in Republican confidence seems linked to favorable voter reactions to President Donald Trump’s recent trade agreement with China and a growing sense of economic optimism. Inflation (29%) and the economy (25%) remain the foremost concerns for voters.
Immigration and health care are tied as the third most significant issues, each identified by 12% of voters. Republicans maintain a substantial lead on immigration (R+16), while Democrats are perceived as more trustworthy regarding health care (D+12).
Overall, concerning the issue that voters prioritize the most, 42% express greater trust in Republicans, 41% in Democrats, 6% trust both parties equally, and 10% trust neither, as reported by the news service.
