Obama Could Face Grand Jury Over ‘Russiagate’: Report
Investigative journalist John Solomon from Just the News has asserted that former President Barack Obama can now be compelled to testify before a grand jury and cannot invoke the Fifth Amendment due to the protections previously afforded by presidential immunity.
Solomon stated on Wednesday evening that once summoned before a grand jury, Obama would be obligated to testify under oath. Should he misrepresent or lie regarding any aspect of his official conduct, he could lose his presidential immunity from the moment the falsehood is uttered.
This singular act, performed as a private citizen, could dismantle the legal protections he once enjoyed under the Constitution and judicial precedent, Solomon emphasized.
On January 5, 2017, then-President Obama led a White House meeting where the FBI had just concluded its investigation into incoming National Security Adviser Mike Flynn. Solomon claims that senior officials subsequently devised a plan: to entice Flynn into an interview, catch him in a lie, and prosecute him for making false statements.
Indeed, former FBI Director James Comey has previously acknowledged in open discussions that he played a role in setting the trap, a fact corroborated by legal filings and other reports.
Now, Solomon warns, Obama may find himself confronting a similar situation—one he allegedly helped initiate.
“I understand President Trump has every reason to feel frustrated with him. I believe President Trump’s assessment last week was accurate. ‘I think my immunity rule might protect him on the original charges,’” Solomon remarked on Real America’s Voice.
“That is what the majority of legal experts inform me — that ruling is so extensive, it will shield Obama for his actions while in office. Nevertheless, Barack Obama can now be summoned before a grand jury,” Solomon added. “He cannot invoke the Fifth Amendment as he has immunity from prosecution. He will be required to tell the truth.
“If he lies as a private citizen regarding his actions as President, he will forfeit that immunity,” Solomon asserted.
“This is a predicament that Obama may be encountering. The irony of this situation is quite pronounced, as on January 5, 2017, he led a meeting at the White House where the FBI had just exonerated Mike Flynn of any misconduct,” the journalist remarked.
“During that meeting, they devised a plan to potentially entrap Mike Flynn. They proposed the strategy: ‘We will entice him into an interview, catch him in a falsehood, and then prosecute him accordingly.’ Barack Obama is now on the verge of confronting a possibly analogous scenario — one that he unjustly orchestrated for Mike Flynn,” he further stated.

In the meantime, Democrats are advising Obama to refrain from engaging in the conflict as Trump officials unveil documents accusing his administration of attempting to ‘manipulate’ the 2016 election.
Party insiders assert that public appearances, such as Tulsi Gabbard’s at the White House briefing on Wednesday, are intended to mislead the public.
“Regardless of how much Trump and Fox are attempting to revive this issue, the base is still fragmenting them over the Epstein documents, so there is no need to distract them while they are self-sabotaging,” remarked Democratic strategist Eddie Vale.
On Friday, Gabbard disclosed a substantial collection of documents that she asserts demonstrate the Obama administration fabricated the narrative of Russian interference in 2016.
Trump swiftly capitalized on this release.
“Look, he is culpable. It is not a matter of debate. I often say, ‘Let’s allow time to unfold.’ The evidence is present. He is guilty,” Trump stated to reporters in the Oval Office. “This was treason; it encompasses every term you can conceive of.”
