While capturing family photographs amidst the cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C., a family from Virginia unexpectedly included former President Barack Obama in the background of a picture featuring their children, Belle, aged 4, and Preston, aged 1. As they posed with the Washington Monument in the backdrop near the Tidal Basin, Obama walked by, inadvertently photobombing their moment.
Portia Moore, the children’s mother, posted the incident on Instagram, explaining that she only became aware of what had occurred after inquiring with her husband about his comments—he responded, “That was President Obama!”
Briana Inell, a photographer who has been capturing images at the location for more than ten years, mentioned that she is accustomed to tourists walking through her shots.
Later, Obama expressed his apologies on social media and humorously remarked on enjoying the peak bloom, stating it was delightful to “play tourist” once more and to admire the stunning cherry blossoms.
