Trump Starts Process Of Bringing MAGA Team Back Together

A growing divide within the MAGA movement is becoming apparent as President Donald Trump considers direct U.S. military intervention against Iran to support Israel’s initiatives aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities. This possible action has triggered backlash from notable “America First” advocates like Tucker Carlson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who contend that military involvement contradicts Trump’s earlier campaign commitments to steer clear of new foreign conflicts. Carlson, in particular, has voiced strong disapproval in a newsletter and during a guest appearance on Steve Bannon’s podcast, labeling Trump as “complicit in an act of war.”

Nevertheless, efforts from Trump’s close advisors seem to be mending the rift, with Carlson reportedly extending a private apology to the president. Concurrently, Bannon expressed optimism that Trump’s supporters would ultimately back him if he proceeded with airstrikes against Iran.

The discussion has also permeated Trump’s cabinet, as Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard expressed vehement opposition to military escalation, cautioning about a nuclear threat, which resulted in her being marginalized. In her defense, Vice President J.D. Vance praised Gabbard as a loyal patriot and essential to the administration’s national security team, although he attributed blame to Iran for not pursuing diplomatic avenues.

As the pressure intensifies, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump has not yet made a decision regarding the deployment of “bunker buster” bombs against Iran’s fortified Fordow facility, noting a two-week timeframe for possible negotiations. At the same time, Israel continues to urge the U.S. for support in targeting Iranian nuclear infrastructure, highlighting the tense geopolitical environment and the delicate position Trump must navigate within both international relations and his political coalition.
